David Kent Johnston

David Kent Johnston passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 5, 2024. He was 80 years old. David was born on April 11, 1944 to Stewart and Elizabeth (Hogle) Johnston in Panama, Nebraska. 

David grew up in Panama, Nebraska and graduated from Panama High School. Afterwards he furthered his education at the University of Nebraska, earning his bachelor's degree in engineering. He then pursed a career with Allis-Chalmers for 26 years before retirement. 

David was an outdoorsman and found solace in nature often. He enjoyed traveling the country and went on numerous adventures throughout his life. A few of his favorite places to visit were Wyoming and Argentina. Although he had an adventurous spirit about him, David could be described as a methodical man that took pride in precision and being efficient in his daily life. David was a wonderful person and loved his family fiercely. He will be deeply missed. 

David is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Marjorie (Tormena) Johnston; children, Lisa Randolph (Tony), Brad Johnston (Ann) and Ralph Brewer (Amy); 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and brother, Calvin Johnston. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Elizabeth; daughter, Dawn Gray; brother, Roger Johnston; and grandchild, Lander Johnston.
