Frances Davidson

Frances Rannie Davidson, 94, was born August 4, 1917 and departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Table Rock Health Care. She was the daughter of Alma Edward and Vivian (Brackenbury) Rannie. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Cremation with burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 3044 Shepherd of the Hills Expy, Branson, MO 65616-7100. Frances had many passions in her life, strong beliefs and the courage to act on them. As she prepared for retirement from the Federal Government, she began to explore various activities she might enjoy, culminating with her favorite, quilting. Just as she was retiring and ready to enjoy that activity her eyesight began to fail from Macular Degeneration. The quilts she had begun were passed on to her daughter for future completion. Frances had a passion for learning and listened to tapes about the Native American Culture. Her greatest passion, however, was her love of her family. When her great-grandchildren were young she was able to be more involved in their lives, but, in later years, always wanted to be kept up to date on their activities. She wanted to know about her family’s history and began a correspondence with a cousin in Maine, Dorothy Weeks. Frances valued being active and expressed frustration when she could no longer be productive. She is survived by her daughter Janet Duvall and husband Tom; grandsons Greg Duvall and wife Tammy, Gary Duvall and wife Christine; five great-grandchildren Dannielle Duvall Middleton Wells and husband Darrin, Nicholas, Zachary, Samuel and Stephen Duvall; four great-great-grandchildren Xavier, Ezekiel, Octavia Wells, P.J. Duvall Wells. Frances was preceded in death by her brother James Rannie.
