Gayle F. Davidson

October 12, 1942 — February 21, 2004

The life of Gayle Frances Davidson was marked with great accomplishment
and service to her family and community. She was born on October 12, 1942 in Independence MO, the first child of Robert and Norma (Sterrett)
Kuhnlein. She was a 1959 graduate of Lillis High School and attended Mount Saint Scholastica College where she graduated in 1963. Beginning in 1973, Gayle became increasingly involved with the Boy Scouts of America serving in many different positions. Her greatest joy was in her service to the Cub Scouts of the area. She was a Den Leader
for over 25 years. She held many different Cub Scout Day Camp staff
positions including Program Director and Camp Director. Her crowning
achievement is all the boys whom she helped to achieve the rank of Eagle
Scout including her own sons.
She was the recipient of several awards for her work in scouting
including the District Award of Merit, the Bronze Pelican and the Silver
Beaver. She was an active member in the St. Mark�s Catholic Church community. Gayle was a member of a Beta Sigma Phi and held several different positions in that organization.
She died early in the morning of February 21, 2004 after a long battle
with a rare pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband John
Davidson and her two sons, Stephen and
Robert. Also surviving are her mother, Norma Kuhnlein and her four siblings, Robert Kuhnlein, Linda Kuhnlein, James Kuhnlein and John Kuhnlein. She has three grandchildren. Visitation will be held at St. Mark�s Catholic Church 5:30 to 7:00pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2004. The rosary will be at 7:00pm followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30pm. Interment will be at Mount Olivet on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 1:30pm. A memorial campership fund has been established to assist families in sending their sons to camp. Donations to the Truman Heartland Community Foundation in care of the Gayle Davidson Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers.
