Barney Davies, 92, of North Kansas City, MO passed away Monday, October 21, 2013. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday, October 28th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10 at the chapel. Burial will be at Mount Moriah, Kansas City, MO. Barney was born July 16th 1921 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph Oliver and Gladys Marie (Adams) Davies as their only child. He graduated from Paseo High School and attended both University of Missouri, Kansas City and Kansas City School of Pharmaceuticals and later worked for his family’s drug store, then, located on Truman Rd. Barney also owned Antler’s Gun Shop for over 50 years and despite a visual impairment was an excellent marksman. He was a longtime member of Westley Heights United Methodist Church and was also founder of the Missouri Valley of Armies Gun Club. He was a long time member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. Barney is survived by companion, Faye Zonker of the home.
