Donald Davis

Donald L. “Don” Davis, 74, Independence, MO passed way April 21, 2013. Cremation will be followed committal services at Mt. Olivet Cemetery to be scheduled at a later date.
Don was born July 12, 1938 in Kansas City, MO. He earned an Associate Degree from Graceland College in 1958 and a Bachelors Degree from CMSU in 1962. He worked as a commercial appraiser for the Jackson County Assessment Dept. for twenty-five years and had lived in Independence since 1976. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Richards-Gebaur AFB from 1962-68. He was a member of the Ararat Shrine.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Dedria Davis in 1990. He is survived by his step-son James Holcamp, Jr. and wife Jenni; step-grandchildren Conner and Lauren; sister Alta M. Short, all of Independence, MO; nephew Gregory E. Short and fiancée Nellie Brown, Lake Lottawana, MO; niece Susan M. Short, Higginsville, MO; nephew Steven H. Short and wife Diana, Kansas City, MO; niece Diane Welch and husband Steve, Independence, MO; and six great-nieces and nephews.
