James Albert Davis, 76, of Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015. A visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, July 13th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A graveside service will be follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
James was born August 26, 1938 in Skidmore, MO as one of three children to Albert Davis and Darlene Jacks. After high school he graduated from NW Missouri State with a Bachelor’s in History. He proudly served in the Army (1950) and then the Air Force (1954). He held numerous jobs in the restaurant industry from cook to manager. Later, he spent over twenty years as a truck driver for Waller, US Express and NKC Transport. In his down time he enjoyed the movies, fishing, cooking, bowling, playing darts, and reading historical and biographical selections. His family remembers him as hardworking and loving.
Survivors include daughter, Tisha Gentile of Liberty, MO; son, James C. Davis and wife Angela of Rosendale, MO; former wife, Lou Davis of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Hailee, Jeremiah, Emily, Ashley, Lindsay, and Bryanna; and seven step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Coby, Brayden, and Bentley; and eleven step great grandchildren; brothers, Ed Davis of Independence, MO and Gary Davis of Blue Springs, MO.
