Janet Lou Davis, 70, Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Janet was born December 12, 1942 in Benton County, MO the daughter of Ben and Hazel (McDavitt) Spry. She worked for Boatman’s Bank and later Bank of American and for a number of years with Discover Card. Janet was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Independence. She volunteered with the American Cancer Society and as a bell ringer with the Salvation Army. Janet enjoyed painting, gardening, and traveling with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Charles Davis; daughter, Stephanie Davis; sisters, Kathy Hart, Maggie Gardner and Ruth Anderson; brothers, Don, Arnold, and Stanley Spry; and additional nieces, nephews, and family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Howell; brothers, Olen Spry and Ben Spry, Jr., and her parents.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Floral Hills East Cemetery.
