Jesse Davis

Jesse Heber Davis, 76 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Jesse was born March 10, 1939 in Purcell, Missouri to Garland A. and Lucy M. (Barnes) Davis. He grew up on the west coast. He served in the US Marines from 1956 to 1958. He lived in Lexington, Missouri for fifteen years. Jesse married Phyllis Crawford December 27, 1960 and moved to Independence, Missouri in 1968. He was employed as a school bus driver in Kansas City, Missouri. His first wife died July 24, 1998. He moved to Fremont in 2000. Jesse married Mary Peters October 26, 2002 in Fremont.
He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Independence.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Fremont; sons, Rick Davis and Steven Davis of Missouri; daughters, Debbie and husband, Don Hillig and Ronda Smith of Missouri; stepson, Keith and wife, Tina Peters of Fremont; stepdaughter, Veronica Christensen of Colorado; brother, Garland and wife, Dussie Davis of Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and twenty-five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Phyllis; son, Danny Lee; and sister, Allie Mae (Sally) Hiner.

A funeral service will be 2:00pm, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri, with visitation from 1-2pm. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence.
