Lowell Andrew “Drew” Davis, 55, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011, at his home.
Andrew was born February 3, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Rev. H. Frederick and H. Jeanette Davis. He was a 1974 graduate of Van Horn High School. Andrew grew up attending Fairmount Christian Church and later became a member of Noland Road Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors in 2007 after 30 years of service. He and his wife are active members in the AFS program. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cheryl Eichenberger Davis, son Bryan Andrew Davis; and daughter Dana Marie Davis; three AFS daughters, Dee Mayalarp, Thailand; Azusa Shirai, Japan and Eki Lau, Hong Kong; mother-in-law Phyllis Langdon; sister-in-law and husband Debbie and Jerry Kaylor; step brother-in-law and wife Gene and Mickey Langdon; sister Rebekah Davis; many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Davis, father-in-laws George Eichenberger, Jr. and Clinton Langdon. The family wishes to thank Dr. Larry Rosen and staff at Midwest Cancer Care, sixth floor staff at Centerpoint Medical Center, and Crossroads Hospice for taking wonderful care of Andrew during his two year battle with cancer. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Memorial service to take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
