Roberta “Bobby Jo” Davis, 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at home in Lee’s Summit, MO. She was born in Canton, MO on November 4, 1929 to Earl and Edith Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of fifty years, Charles Edward Davis; and one brother, William Lewis. Roberta never met a stranger whom she didn’t know and enjoyed talking to. She received that trait from her father, a Christian Minister, as well as from her real estate and civic involvement. She loved to study maps and plan trips, traveling with Charles in their RV. Her passions were sewing crafts, flower arranging and decorating the home, weddings and dinner installations. Roberta held memberships with Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America and White Shrine of Jerusalem. She is survived by one son, Michael Davis; two daughters, Shirley Tullis (Ken) and Deanna Gilbert (Craig); one brother, John Lewis of KY; one sister, Alice Gunter (Dorman) of KY; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO.
