Sharon L. Davis (Vaughn)

Sharon L. Davis, 73, Independence, MO passed away Nov. 9, 2014. Services will be 10 am, Friday, Nov. 14 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at the chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Benton County, MO. The family requests contributions to the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association, c/o Richard Harms, 21526 Fordney Rd., Lincoln, MO 65338. Sharon was born Sept. 2, 1941 in Fairmont, MO and attended Mt. Washington Elementary and Van Horn High School. She worked several years for Continental Insurance Co. in Kansas City, MO. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Hyman Vaughn and half-sister Phyllis Keeton. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years Richard L. Davis; children Richard Charles Davis, Susan Gower, Brenda Barnes, Tonya Davis, Sharri Walters and Scott Davis; seventeen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; sisters Patricia Shearer, Melba Sharp and Judy Keplinger; brother Kenny Vaughn
and several baseball teams of nieces and nephews.
