Richard L. Davis, 75, Grain Valley, MO passed away Jan. 9, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Services will be at 10 am, Wed., Jan. 13, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055; interment at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Dick was born March 20, 1934 in Kansas City, MO and attended Northeast High School before joining the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Boxer, an aircraft carrier, during the Korean War. He was a Priest in the RLDS church. He had a long career in the printing industry and retired in 1995. He was a Cub and Boy Scout leader and a member of the Independence Optimist Club.
Dick was preceded in death by a grandson Ben Davis and a brother Paul Davis. He is survived by sons Rick Davis, Independence, MO; Tim Davis and wife Barbara, Grain Valley, MO; Ron Davis, Englewood, CO; brothers Mike Davis, Mt. Home, Idaho; Dan Davis and wife Nancy, Corpus Christie, TX; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
