Walter Davis

Walter John “Walt” Davis, 68, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at St. Luke’s East. Visitation will be 1-3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Walt was born December 1, 1940 in Saksatoon, SK Canada to Tabor and Doris (Harper) Davis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Davis was superintendent at Maxwell Construction Company before starting his own business W.J. Davis Construction. Walt and his wife Katie, bred and showed champion Yorkshire Terriers. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Katie (Kurtz) Davis; sons Craig Davis and wife Julie, Eric Brookens and wife Jana, Michael Dale Davis, Lori Lynn Davis; grandchildren Chase and Christy Davis, Emily and Sarah Davis, Kamden and Keifer Brookens; and a great-granddaughter due in December, Gracie. Walt was preceded in death by his grandson Jon Michael Davis in ’98. Kindly omit flowers and make contributions to the Walter J.
