Clifford Day, 92, of Independence, MO was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at Carson Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Clifford was born October 12, 1918 in Kingman, KS to James and Anna (Fitzgerald) Day. He was united in marriage to Mabel F. Trefz of Independence, MO on August 23, 1940. Mr. Day was a member of the Pipefitter local union 533 and UA International Union for more than 65 years. He worked as a pipefitter with A.D. Jacobson and U.S. Engineering Co. during most of his career. Clifford was involved in scouting with his sons and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of the RLDS, Stone Church Congregation. Mr. Day is survived by his sons Richard Day and wife Jeannette, Tommie Day and his wife Mary, Harold Day and his wife Kay; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Reese Day. Clifford was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mabel Day; brothers Clark, Morris and sister Alice Sankey.
