Deacon Phillip A. Camerlynck Sr. (Giddo), of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025. Born on April 15, 1948, to Gustave Camerlynck and Betty King, Phillip graced this world with his presence for 77 remarkable years.
His legacy lives on through his wife, Debbie Camerlynck; his children, Phillip Camerlynck Jr. (Amy), Tammy Summers (Michael), and Sherie Hendren (Rick); his grandchildren, Jessica McGhee (Dennis), Elizabeth Hancock, Candra Milligan (Tanner), P.J. Camerlynck, Collin Camerlynck, Elaina Camerlynck, Gabriel Hendren (Tana), Gustave Hendren (Samantha), and Garth Hendren; and his great-grandchildren, Bennett Milligan, Miles Milligan, Tyson Milligan, Tatum Fitzpatrick, Ace McGhee, Khloe McGhee, Zoey Henre, Dennis McGhee, Joseph Hancock, Kholt Henre, Addy McGhee, Miley Hancock, Gabby Hancock, Ashton McGhee, Xander McGhee, Autumn Brimm, Ember Goens, and Skylar Hendren.
Family will greet guests during a visitation at Carson-Speaks Chapel on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5-7 pm. On Saturday, January 3, 2026, a prayer service will take place at 11 am at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Overland Park, Kansas, followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church (11901 Pflumm Rd. Overland Park, KS 66213) in Phillip’s honor
