Deakin Michael Robinson

Deakin Michael Robinson, born on June 9, 2006, in Independence, MO, passed away far too soon on August 26, 2023. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend who touched the lives of those around him with his vibrant personality and joyful spirit. He was 17 years old.

Deakin attended William Chrisman and Ft. Osage High Schools, where he made countless friendships.

In his free time, Deakin had several hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He was an avid video game enthusiast and could often be found immersed in virtual worlds with his friends. Deakin also had a deep appreciation for football and enjoyed watching games with his loved ones. Music held a special place in his heart, and he would often be seen listening to his favorite tunes. However, above all else, Deakin cherished spending time with his family, especially his younger siblings. His love for them knew no bounds, and the memories they created together will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Deakin will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warm smile could light up even the darkest rooms, and his infectious laughter brought joy to those around him. His presence brightened the lives of everyone he encountered.

Deakin is survived by his mother, Sarah Lawson and her significant other, Javon Shackleford; his father, Dustin Robinson and his wife, Heather; grandparents Regina Millan, Toika Crain, Jerry Robinson, and Doug Lawson; great-grandmother "whitehair mawmaw," Wilma Rhoer; siblings Drevon Lewis, Brooklynne Lewis, Sheyanne Lewis, Brandon Driscoll, and Logan Robinson; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Together, they share the deep void left by Deakin's untimely departure but also hold onto the cherished memories they shared.

Services to honor and celebrate Deakin's life will be held on August 31, 2023, at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, MO. A visitation will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, giving friends and family an opportunity to pay their respects and share their fond memories of Deakin. On September 1, 2023, a Memorial Service will be held at Carson-Speaks Chapel at 2:00 PM. This gathering will offer a space for all who knew Deakin to come together, support one another, and commemorate his life.

Deakin's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. However, we find solace in knowing that his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved and the memories he created with them. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
