Daisy Mae Deaver, 96 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 at St. Mary�s Manor in Blue Springs. She was able to live in her own home until this past month. Mrs. Deaver was born on November 15, 1910 in Stewartville, MO to Alza and Mary Black, one of seven children. She graduated from Stewartville High School and then Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa. She joined the faculty at Geneva, Iowa High School where she taught science and coached girl�s basketball. On June 7, 1936, she married A. Neal Deaver. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the Stone Church Community of Christ, for many years where she enjoyed working in the kitchen and making her special homemade rolls. She spent many years working with the Mother�s Club, a group of women who made clothing for the newborn babies at Independence Regional Health Center. She cherished her family and loved cooking for family gatherings. She enjoyed her large garden and looked forward to sharing its produce with family and friends each year. She is survived by her three daughters: Marlene Cable and her husband Jim of Independence, MO, Lynette Wages and her husband Gary of Independence, MO and Janet Deaver-Pack of Lake Geneva, WI; four grandchildren; Susan Cable and her husband Bret Hurshman, Karen Case an her husband Terry, Ronnie and Liana Wages; and a great-grandson Quinn Hurshman. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2007 with a celebration of her life service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th Street and Highway 291, Independence, MO. Donation may be made toward the carillon bells at the Stone Church, 1012 West Lexington, Independence, MO 64050.
