Debbie was born July 11, 1956 in Trenton, Missouri. She was the daughter of Louis Sherman and Betty Lou Parks. She married the love of her life, Jerry McDowell, on February 22, 2004. They enjoyed 17 years of a blissful marriage. These years were the happiest of her life.
She attended William Chrisman High School graduating in 1974.
Debbie worked as a civilian employee with the Department of Defense at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Missouri for over 30 years.
After retiring, Debbie wanted to stay active and started working part time for Crossmark inside Sam’s doing various demonstrations. She was there for twelve years and enjoyed her time there.
She was a member of the Community of Christ, Special Ministries Congregation in Independence, Missouri.
Debbie loved flowers and took pride in her beautiful flower garden. She worked tirelessly keeping them watered and looking good! She enjoyed antique malls and flea markets. Along with Jerry, she attended many auctions. She attended many craft fairs and enjoyed handmade items.
Debbie loved to travel. She took many trips with Jerry and her friends. All those who knew her well were aware of her deep affection for cats!
She was a quiet, gentle woman. She was a loyal friend, employee, and devoted to her faith.
Debbie was preceded in death by her spouse, Jerry, her little brother Ronnie Lewis Parks, and her parents Sherman and Betty Lou Parks.
Debbie leaves behind her beloved cousins, family members and friends all of whom loved her dearly. She will truly be missed.
She leaves behind her three inside cats as well: Whitefoot, Mollie Brown, and Norma Jean. She also fed between seven to nine cats outside. These babies are deeply missing her as are we all.
