Deborah Rachel Stone, born on December 22, 1954, in Independence, Missouri, left this world on May 2, 2025, at 70 years of age. Deborah’s journey through life was marked by a commitment to her family and an unwavering spirit that brought joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
Deborah graduated from Truman High School. In the early years of marriage, she dedicated herself entirely to her family, creating a loving home for her husband and children. Later, Deborah transitioned into a career at the Help Desk in various hospitals, including Research Hospital in Kansas City. In this capacity, she brought her characteristic humor and fun nature to those she served. Deborah was not only committed to her work and family but also had an adventurous side that defined many cherished moments in her life. She adored riding motorcycles alongside her husband, Steven. Together, they joined the Kansas City Road Riders, a motorcycle club that flourished with camaraderie and adventure. Their shared passion took them on numerous journeys across the coasts of Canada, California, Florida, and to the iconic Sturgis motorcycle rally, where they created countless memories, all bound by laughter and love.
Those who knew Deborah fondly remember her infectious personality. She had an incredible ability to make light of any situation, always ready with a joke that would bring smiles to the faces surrounding her. Her vibrant spirit shone brightly, not only as a loving family member but also as a source of laughter and fun for her friends and coworkers. She was always ready to fiercely defend loved ones when needed. Among her proudest accomplishments were the moments shared with her family. Deborah cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, possessing an unwavering love that defined her existence. She was known as the best Mamaw, a title she wore with pride; her home was a sanctuary for her grandchildren, especially during the summer months or on days when they needed comfort and care. Deborah welcomed them with open arms, embodying unconditional love and creating lasting memories that they will carry with them forever.
Deborah's passing is preceded by her parents, Dorothy L Gillespie and Charles C Perdue. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on through her best friend and beloved husband of 53 remarkable years, Steven Stone; their daughters, Melanie Stalstrom (Sean) and Tammy Willis (Shawn); her grandchildren, Stephanie Kinney (Miguel), Christopher Kinney, Jordan Kinney, Emily Kinney, Tristen Willis, Elijah "Cole" Willis, and Levi Willis; her great-grandchildren, Elliana, Myla, Amelia, Rosalia, Hayden, Kindsley, and Wyland; her siblings, Candy Purcell and Charles Robert Perdue; as well as many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins.
