Lupe Delgado, 85, of Independence, MO passed away October 20, 2010 at the home of her daughter. A visitation will be held from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, with a 5:30 p.m. rosary at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Independence, MO. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO. Lupe was born August 5, 1925 in Dearborn, MO. She was a member of St. Mark’s Parish. She retired from Bakery and Confectionary Workers Local 218 in 1986. Lupe worked at Dolly Madison, Manor and Holsum Bakeries ending her career as financial secretary of the Union Local 218. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fortino Delgado in 1971; her mother and father, Mary and Pete Flores; her brothers, Jesse and Joe Flores; her sisters, Amelia Mejia and Alice Ermentrout. Survivors include her children, Rose Bleyenberg (Felix), Cecilia Stewart (James) and Joseph Delgado (Mary Ann); grandchildren, Joseph Bleyenberg, Gregory Stewart, Brandon Delgado (Jennifer) and Ryan Delgado; great grandchildren, Kayla Stewart and Max Fortino Delgado; sister, Nettie Martinez (Jesse); and brother, Stephen Andrew Flores (Judy). The family wishes to thank the Centerpoint Cardiologist Group and the nurses in the pre/post op center for all of the care given to Lupe. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
