Dennis Wayne Cypret, Jr.

Grain Valley, Missouri

Dennis Cypret Jr., a beloved father, stepfather, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, son and friend, passed away on August 31, 2023 at the age of 59, leaving a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dennis was born on October 14 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Dennis Cypret Sr. and Carole Cypret. He was the older brother to Kelly (Derek) Cypret-Dwyer and the late Jeffrey Cypret.  
 
Dennis was a man of several passions, but above all else, he cherished his family. He leaves behind his wife, Penny Cypret, with whom he shared more than 22 years of marriage and companionship. 
 
Dennis is survived by a loving and devoted family who will carry on his memory with deep affection and gratitude. He is survived by his children Dustin Cypret, Taylor Cypret and Jordan (Michael) Ladd and stepchildren Angelina (Devin) Leonardi-Mills, Nicol Leonardi and Angelo (Kayla) Leonardi.  
 
In addition, Dennis is also survived by his grandchildren Klover, Di’Angelo, Layla, Giovanni, Greyson and Jordan and his nephews Travis (Amber) Mullendere and Blake (Brooke) Mullendere. Dennis leaves behind countless others; aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by his kindness and love. The legacy of Dennis will live on through the bonds of family and the memories he shared with all those he knew. 
 
Dennis was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sherman and Rachel Cypret, his maternal grandparents Orval and Betty McCaughey, his brother Jeffrey Cypret and his nephew Bradley Bo Mullendore. 
 
Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed riding motorcycles and dedicated countless hours to his Harley and the open road. Dennis' legacy also extends to his professional life. He was a dedicated and hardworking and spent 30+ years at General Motors, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family. 
 
As we bid farewell to Dennis, we take solace in knowing that he has found peace and eternal rest. He may no longer be with us in person, but his spirit will live on in the memories, love, and stories we all share. 
 
Rest in peace, Dennis. You will forever be loved and missed.

A memorial service for Dennis will be held at 4pm Monday, September 11, 2023 at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri. 
 
A celebration of Dennis’ life with take place on his 60th birthday, October 14, 2023. Further details to be provided by the family.
