Myron “Chief” DesJarlait, 78, Kansas City, MO died July 5, 2008. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be at 2 pm, Wed., July 9 at Salem Cemetery, Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Odyssey Hospice.
Chief was born Jan. 19, 1930 in Red Lake, MN. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a driver for the Trailways/Greyhound Bus Lines for 33 years before retiring. He was a member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians and the Eagles Lodge of Sugar Creek. He was an avid Chiefs fan.
Chief was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, his parents, six brothers, seven sisters and his adoptive parents. He is survived by step-daughters Kim O’Dell and her fiancé Dale Goode, Independence, MO; Sharon Ferman and husband Tom, Lee’s Summit, MO; step-sons Kevin O’Dell and wife Angie, Oak Grove, MO; Danny O’Dell, Kansas City, MO; brother Leo DesJarlait, Red Lake, MN; nieces Sharon Cook and husband Marvin, Ignacio, CO; Adrienne Champagne and husband Ron, Eudora, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
