Donald R. DeVoss, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015. Donald was born on September 6, 1932 in Bagley, IA. He lived in Bagley until age 5, before moving to Des Moines. From there the family moved to Paullina, IA when Donald was 13. He graduated high school at Paullina High School in 1951. He was employed by Northern Natural Gas Company until he was drafted into the USA Army in 1953. He served in Korea till 1955. Upon returning to Paullina he again worked for Northern Gas Company. A transfer in 1967 took him to Northern Petro Chemical Company in Morris, IL. Donald remained in Morris until 1973 when he received disability from Northern Petro Chemical. He then moved to Fair Grove, MO. where he attended college in Springfield, MO. After graduation he went to work for Olin Defense System in Independence, MO. He retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1992 at the age of 60, where he remained until 2001. Donald moved backed to Spencer, IA before moving home to Paullina, Iowa in 2003. In 2014 he made his last move, to the home of his son in Independence, Missouri. Donald is survived by; sons Kevin DeVoss (Anita), Jason DeVoss, and a grandson, Adam DeVoss.
