November 25, 1940 — January 26, 2024

Independence

Diane Lynn Campbell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 26, 2024, in Independence, Missouri. She was born on November 25, 1940, in Pryor, Oklahoma to James and Virginia Manners.

Diane's life was marked by love and devotion to her family. While working as a bank teller, she encountered the love of her life, Pat. Their connection was undeniable, and when Pat decided to leave the company and move to a new city, Diane fearlessly followed suit. Together, they embarked on a new adventure that would shape their lives forever. In the year 1983, they exchanged vows and dedicated their hearts to one another. As a mother, Diane was an exceptional role model and caretaker. Her dedication knew no bounds as she poured her love into raising her children. Her sweet and caring nature endeared her to all who crossed her path. Diane's hardworking spirit radiated through every aspect of her life. In her free time, Diane found joy in various hobbies and interests that brought out her true passion. She had a zest for adventure and loved to snow ski in the mountains and water ski at the Lake of the Ozarks any chance she got. She found solace in completing crossword puzzles that challenged her mind, as well as reading books. Diane's creativity extended to sewing and cross-stitching as she crafted beautiful pieces of art with love and care for those around her. One of the many ways Diane expressed love was through food. She had a remarkable talent for cooking and brought happiness to countless bellies with her home-cooked meals. Her taco soup, twice-baked potatoes, and "chickghetti" became legendary dishes that warmed the hearts of family and friends alike.

Diane’s passing was preceded by her parents; James Manners and Ed and Virginia (Wallace) Wormington, and her uncle; Ted Manners. She is survived by her husband and love of her life; Patrick Campbell, her children; Lynn Burris (Ronald) and Clay Christian (Kathi), her grandchildren; Derek Campbell (Amy), Corrine Page (Brian), Chantell Johnson, and Autumn Burris, and her great-grandchildren; Addalynn Campbell, Jack Schoen, Ryan Schoen, Lasean Johnson, Aydinn Johnson, and Cache Renfrow.
