Jeffrey Alan Diehl, 47, Kansas City, MO died Oct. 2, 2010. Services will be at 2 pm, Wed., Oct. 6, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO; cremation. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City, 10200 W. 75th St., Ste. 261, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204-2223.
Jeff was born May 11, 1963 in Bonntierre, MO. He graduated from the State School at Woods Chapel and was a Boy Scout. He worked at McDonald’s and was a greeter and usher at Unity Village Church. He enjoyed bowling and was a Special Olympics athlete.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl & Hazel Hardcastle and grandfather Harry Diehl. He is survived by his parents Harry & Bonnie Diehl; sister Cheryl Reilly and husband Jim; aunt Barbara Hardcastle, all of Blue Springs, MO; aunt Betty Keeling and husband Elmo, Marshfield, MO; uncle Jerry Hardcastle, Springfield, MO; uncle Joe Hardcastle and wife Sherrill, Lebanon, MO; aunt Lynda Cook and husband Larry, Cleveland, TN; niece Christen Digusto and her son Van Digusto and nephew Matt Reilly all of Blue Springs, MO.
