Patrick T. Dignan, 66, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00pm Saturday, December 5th at Fraternal Order of Police Officers; 18300 MO 78, Independence, MO. A graveside inurnment will be held at 10:00am Monday, December 7, 2015 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville.
Patrick was born April 16, 1949 in Independence, MO to Ansel and Dorothy (Warmington) Dignan. He graduated from Truman High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He owned many horses and was an accomplished trick rider in the rodeo on numerous national tours. Patrick later worked as a carpenter doing commercial construction in California and Las Vegas. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren; was a great cook and loved to bar-b-que. If he wasn’t feeding everyone he was working on his 1955 Ford pick up truck. His family remembers his sarcastic humor, quick wit, hard work, and devotion to family. Patrick is loved and will be missed.
Survivors include daughter, Amie Dignan (Aaron Gietzen) of Oak Grove, MO; daughter, Bailey Dignan (Daniel Downey) of Modesto, CA; grandchildren, Jax, Brooklynn, and Saylor Leal; nephew, Cody Dignan (Ashley Gant) and numerous other family and friends who will miss him.
