Glenda Grace Divine, 68 of Bates City, MO passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her residence. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Monday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation. Glenda was born September 15, 1946 in Des Moines, IA to Donald E. and Pauline (Nelson) Harvey. Her father was an appointee for the Community of Christ Church, taking Glenda to Connecticut, Maine, Missouri, Ohio, and back to Iowa. She attended Graceland University one year, and graduated from the Independence Sanitarium & Hospital School of Nursing with an R.N. Degree. She had worked at Independence Regional Health Center and later retired from Research Medical Center in 2009. She enjoyed scrapbooking, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She was also a volunteer for Skylarks, the Girl Scouts and the Community Services League. She is survived by: a daughter, Nikki Farmer and husband Greg of Bates City, MO; a sister, Carol Beaver and husband Jerry of Olathe, KS; 5 grandchildren, Charlie, Samantha, Kirsten, Kinsey and Sean and 2 great grandchildren, Autumn and Brookelynn. She was preceded in death by her parents, and step mother, Loydea Harvey and her Husband, Laurence Divine in 2008.
