Laurence Lee Divine
Laurence Lee Divine, 71 of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away, Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday at the Morehead Cemetery in Lamar, MO. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Laurence was born November 8, 1936 in Lamar, MO to Virgil and Allene (Stilabower) Divine. He had worked as a railway clerk for Western Weighing for over 34 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, he was a car enthusiast and enjoyed old planes. He was a member of the Railway Workers Union, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Air Force. Laurence was married to Sharon Smith in 1961, and later divorced. He later married Glenda Timberman in 1980, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a son, David Divine of Gravois Mills, MO; a step daughter, Nikki Farmer of Bates City, MO; a brother, Larry Divine of Liberty, MO and 5 grandchildren.
