Ruth Dobbins

Ruth Elvira Dobbins, 81, Sibley, MO passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM, Saturday, February 2 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence. Services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday at the Chapel. Cremation to follow services.
Ruth was born January 17, 1927 in Ransom, KS to Ralph C. and Ruth Lena (Wood) Weeks. She was a member of the Sibley Christian Church and enjoyed collecting poetry and sayings, and was the proud owner of nine cats. She was employed as a custodian with Buckner Elementary School for 15 years before her retirement in 1992.
Ruth is survived by her only daughter, Mary Ruth Dobbins of the home; five siblings: Norma and Gene Senter, Wayme and Paul Webb, Erma Rowley, Lois and Tejinder Rajpal, and Marvin Weeks; and 16 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Willard Dobbins, in 1986; four siblings: Lee Weeks, Leonard Weeks, Genie Weeks, and David Weeks; niece, Hope Blankenship; and brother-in-law, Charles A. Rowley. Instead of sending flowers to Ruth, the family suggests sending a flower to a friend to brighten their day, in Ruth’s memory.
