Dorothy Ann Dold, 84, of Leawood, KS peacefully passed away, Monday, January 31, 2011 surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Church of Nativity, 3800 W. 119th St., Leawood, KS 66209. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 where the rosary will be prayed at 7:30. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice, 10100 W. 87th St, Suite 100, Overland Park, KS 66212. Dorothy was born October 30, 1926 in Kansas City, MO, the fourth child of Dorothy Marie (Vohs) and Carl Albert Kupersmith. She lost her father at age 15 and was raised by her mother. Mrs. Dold attended and graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1944. She married her one true love, James E. Dold, on June 30, 1949, and went on to raise seven loving children. Dorothy was a member of the Church of Nativity and enjoyed the arts of the needle which included sewing, crocheting and embroidery. Mrs. Dold enjoyed their house at the Lake of the Ozarks and hosted many weekends with family. She also loved to travel with her children. During the winter months she enjoyed the sunshine and warmth of Phoenix, AZ and then a brief time in Lake Havasu, AZ. Dorothy is survived by her daughters Anne C. Zeitelhack, Aimee L. Chamberlin; sons Timothy J. Dold, Randal P. Dold, Patrick L. Dold, Jeffrey J. Dold, Peter A. Dold; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters Geraldine Nivens, Helen Chisolm; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Dold was preceded in death by her loving husband James E. Dold, brothers Vincent and Leo Kupersmith; sister Mary Alice McGrew.
