Donald Eugene Watts

Donald Eugene Watts, 89 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday evening, August 27, 2023 at the Parkway Care Center in Blue Springs.  Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. 18020 E. 39^th St., Independence, MO 64055.  The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday at the chapel.  Donald was born November 5, 1933 in Auburn, KS to Louis and Lillian (Gier) Watts.  He spent his early life in Kansas graduating from Winchester, KS high school and later relocating to the Kansas City area.  He worked for over 30 years as a salesman for Eco-Lab until he retired.  He enjoyed playing golf and card cards such as bridge and pitch.  He was married to Joyce (Strange) on May 17, 1953 and they enjoyed just over 70 years of marriage.  Other survivors include; 2 daughters, Kelly Cross and husband Mike of Blue Springs, MO and Karen Williamson and husband Andy of Liberty, MO; a son, David Watts and wife Sharon of Overland Park, KS; 3 siblings, Fred Watts, Floyd Watts and Mayona Austin; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings and a daughter, Sandra Shahan in 2010.
