Donna Ray Hopwood

Donna Ray Hopwood, 84, of Blue Springs, Missouri, died on November 29, 2025.

Donna was born in Springfield, Missouri, in 1941 to Herman and Evelynn Burns. After marrying David Hopwood, they moved to Lee's Summit, Missouri, where they started their family, and Donna started working at Western Electric. She worked there until she retired. In 1975, they moved to a small farm in Blue Springs, Missouri. Donna enjoyed gardening. She cultivated flowers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other vegetables. She canned the vegetables for her family. Immediate family members always looked forward to the large bags of favorite candies they would receive from her for birthdays. 

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Hopwood. She will be missed by her husband, David Hopwood; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sherri Hopwood; granddaughter and partner, Amanda Hopwood and Gene Gray; brother, Dale Burns; sister-in-law, Sara Burns; brother, Gary Burns; sister-in-law, Myra Burns, nieces and nephews, and her dog, Buddy.
