Dorothy June Alsop passed away at home on November 16th, 2023 at age 94. Dorothy was born in Pineville, Kentucky to Verda Crozier. Her mother was determined to make a better life for her daughter and at age 3, during the depression, moved her to Erie, Pennsylvania. They were married until Rodney's passing in June of 1999. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and believed that families could be together forever. She loved her family very much.

Dorothy was a woman of many talents. She was artistic and loved to paint murals; had a huge love for poems and books; worked with the city of Independence for emergency preparedness; she produced skits for church road shows and wrote Christmas musicals for her church. She loved everything nature. She had a soft heart for animals. She took care of sick and injured animals and nursed them back to health. She had an exotic pet shop in Arizona which had llamas, lion cubs, monkeys, chimps, snakes, etc. Let's not forget she also had a pet lion cub named Taffy!

Dorothy is survived by her children, Debbie Black, Laurel (Mark) Munger, Connie (Frank) Cessor, Thomas (Paula) Black, Nancy (Daniel's wife), 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
