Dorothy Louise Wilkinson passed away on July 29, 2026 at the age of 93 years old. Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born the second oldest of 7 children to Emmert and Alice (Ashcraft) Lewis on October 2, 1932 in Atherton, Missouri.
Shortly after graduating from William Chrisman high school Dorothy married her soulmate Charles "Keith" and they spent the next 57 years creating memories together. Dorothy loved her family deeply and was a devoted homemaker most of her life. She was blessed with 6 children.
Dorothy enjoyed reading mystery romance novels, solving crossword puzzles and traveling. She was a strong woman of faith and dedicated lots of her time serving within the First Church of God church. She was often found helping with the infants in the nursery. As her own children grew older and created families of their own, Dorothy was delighted to dive into the role of a grandmother. She doted on those babies every chance she got.
Dorothy was kind and gregarious, made a mouth-watering batch of spaghetti and meatballs (even though she didn’t really enjoy cooking) and would do anything to make sure her family was happy and healthy. She lived her life with purpose and will be greatly missed.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Roxanna Pruitt (Mike), Kim Jones, Charles Wilkinson Jr., Stacie Lucas (Paul), James Wilkinson, and Mike Wilkinson (Amy); 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles "Keith" Sr.; grandchildren, Clinton Hunt and Grace Wilkinson; great-grandchild, Trinity McGhee; her parents, and 6 siblings.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5th from 9-10am at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence. Funeral service will begin at 10am with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
