Charlotte Anna Dorsey, 85, Grandview, MO passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Charlotte was born April 19, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of George and Loretta (Carroll) Steinecke. She was a graduate of Bushwick High School in Brooklyn, NY. Charlotte married Martin John Dorsey on June 10, 1950 and moved to Grandview in 1970 when Martin was transferred to Richard-Gebaur Air Force Base. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, oil painting and playing bingo with friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; sister, Gladys (Steinecke) O’Connell and her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Dorsey and his wife Kathleen of Grandview, and Jeff Dorsey of Quincy, IL; grandchildren, Jennifer Dorsey Rogers, and Andrea Dorsey; great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Joshua and Josiah Rogers.
