Clifford Dougan

Clifford E. Dougan, 59, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the St. Luke’s Evangelical Church 700 W. Hwy 224 Wellington MO 64097. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Donations may be made to the Kansas City Hospice. Clifford was born July 11, 1948 in Independence, MO to Charles “Shorty” and Dorothy (Martin) Dougan and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1966. He had worked as a truck driver for over 30 years for Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #41 in Kansas City, MO. He enjoyed fishing, camping and working in his garage. He was married to Joyce Ahmann in 1968; she preceded him in death in May on 1997. He later married Jean Whitworth, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a daughter and son in law Tracy and Scott Huffman Grain Valley MO, a son, Nathan Dougan Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Wyatt and Avery Huffman; a brother, Carl Dougan of Blue Springs, MO; Jean’s children, Paul, Ben, Tamara, Corrina their spouses; Jeans grandchildren, Mallory, Christopher, Chelsea, Lexi, Julia, Dillon, Jayden, Ben, Olivia, and Liza and many cousins, aunts and uncles. A very special thanks to the Reese Family for all of their kindness and support during the past few weeks. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jason Dougan in 2006.
