Jerry M. Doughty, 52, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 5 2008. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; cremation. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Kansas City Hospice.
Jerry was born Aug. 13, 1956 in Gardena, CA. He graduated from Schlagle High School in 1974 before joining the U.S. Navy. He was a refrigerator technician for Railroad Refrigerator Services for thirteen years. Jerry enjoyed woodworking and was building a pool table. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing poker with his buddies from high school.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes (Krivjansky) Foley, his father Jack Doughty, and brothers Ed and Bob Doughty. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Doughty, of the home; son Jerry Doughty, Jr., Aspen, CO; brother Larry Doughty and wife Susan, Kansas City, MO; step-daughter Christy Burton and husband Sang; step-sons Jeffery Spicer and wife Rhoda, all of Independence, MO; Jerry Spicer and wife Katie, Leavenworth, KS; step-daughter Cassie Spicer, Indianapolis, IN; and step-son Andy Spicer, of the home.
