Douglas Sillett

January 3, 1947 — November 5, 2023

Douglas Robert Sillett, 76, of Pittsburg, MO, passed away on November 5, 2023, in Independence, MO. He was born on January 3, 1947, in Kansas City, MO, to Carl and Barbara (Bramwell) Sillett. Douglas was a proud Kansas City police officer from 1970 to 1979. He was also a radio disc jokey named "Bumper Bob Douglas". Once he retired from these positions, he enjoyed his retirement at Pomme de Terre Lake. Two of Douglas’ favorite things were a great meal and a good drink. He loved baseball, especially the Royals, and some good KC BBQ. He was a very good cook himself. Douglas was a great man, very charming, genrous, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved his family more than anything and all-around loved life.

Douglas is survived by his daughter Pam Roberts of Warsaw, MO; daughter Mary Kreissler of Rotunda, FL; son Matt Ward of Independence, MO; stepson Patrick Tormos of Farmers Branch, TX; and girlfriend Debbie Suttles of Pittsburg, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim Poffinbarger, and his second wife, Sue Ward. Douglas will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
