Emily R. Doutt, 74, Independence, MO passed away February 25, 2009 at Research Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, March 2, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Emily was born in Independence, MO on January 8, 1935 the daughter of Howard and Dora (Frye) Dike, and lived all her life in Independence. She retired from Lake City Plant in 1992. She enjoyed going to local sporting events and spending time with her family.

Emily was preceded in death by her husband John of 48 years; her son Johnny; her parents and brother Sonnie.

She is survived by her three daughters Debbie Myles and her husband Bob; Joni Countryman; Tina Elder and her husband Tim. Two brothers, Jerry and Ronnie Dike; One sister, Dorothy Clark, all of Independence. 5 grandchildren, Crissy Wilson and her husband Clayton; Donnie Countryman; Joey Myles and his wife Natalie; Matt Moon; and Heather Myles. Two great grandsons, Zachery Smith and Coleton Wilson. Her first great granddaughter in May and adopted granddaughters Christina Jenkins and Mariah Myers.
