Billy Dowell, 72, of Iola, KS passed away September 22, 2012 at his home. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Billy was born August 10, 1940 in Ethel, MO. He is survived by his wife, Alice Dowell; three children, Donald Dowell, Dean Dowell, Diana Ford and husband Billy; one brother, Carl Dowell and wife Dawne; one sister, Barbara Vickerman; five grandchildren, Craig Dowell, Shayne Dowell, Jacqueline Erwin, Taylor Dowell, Abbie Dowell; one step grandson, B.J. Ford; and one great granddaughter, Athena Rose Perry-Dowell.
