Wanda Lee Downum, 79, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at her home.
A celebration of Wanda’s Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army or St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation.
Wanda was born December 3, 1931. She was employed with Midland Hardware in Independence for over 20 years. Wanda enjoyed watching the KC Chiefs and Royals and NASCAR. She loved spending time with her daughter and son in law. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Lewis B. Downum; two half sisters; and one half brother.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Peters and her husband Jim of Independence; sister in laws, Laverne Creekmore of Blue Springs; Elaine Farish of Springdale, AR; granddog, Abby and additional nieces and nephews.
