Carrie Maxine Drake

Carrie Maxine Drake, 85, Independence, MO passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private Inurnment will be at a later date at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery; Higginsville, MO.
Maxine was born April 29, 1926 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of John and Laura Bell (Zeltner) Virden. She retired from the advertising department at the Kansas City Star.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Floyd in 2006; two sisters; one brother; and her parents. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen L. Dowden and husband Larkin, Jennifer Madel and husband Bernie, and Deborah A. Hyatt; son, Thomas A. Drake and wife Shanna; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and additional nieces, nephews and family.
