Clifford Lee Driskell, 81, of Independence, Missouri passed away May 28, 2010. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 2, at the 96 Cemetery in La Cygne, KS. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO.
Clifford was born Nov. 2, 1928 in La Cygne, KS to Raymond and Bessie (Virgin) Driskell. At a young age his father passed away and he began helping on his step father’s and uncle’s farms. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, proudly serving his country. Clifford worked for Ford Motor Company as a painter for 32 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting, and was a Tribal Elder in the Boy Scouts. Cliff was preceded in death by his wife, Reba (Reaves) Driskell; son David Lee Driskell; father Raymond Driskell; mother Bessie Miller; step father Glen Miller; and sister Dorothy Deal and step brother Walter Miller. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Young and husband David; grandson Robert Scarborough and wife Sandra; five great-grandchildren Samantha, Dalton, Halie, Skylar, and Thomas; sister Geri Dalryple; half brother Gene Miller; half sister Marilyn Jenkins; step sisters Mabel Hill, Virginia Glaze and Norma Meador; step brother Jack Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
