Robin D. Dunnam, 51, of Independence, MO, passed away September 27, 2010, at The Kansas City Hospice House. Services will be at 10 am, Friday, Oct. 1, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, Mo. Her final resting place will be at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, Mo. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Susan G. Koman for the Cure and Kansas City Hospice.
Robin was a beloved daughter, wife, mother and friend. Robin began her journey through breast cancer in 1994 and was in remission until 2007 when she continued her journey to heaven.
Robin was born April 19, 1959 in Hollywood, Ca. She graduated from Glendale High School in Springfield, Mo. in 1977.
Robin spent over 25 years in hotel and exhibit sales. She spent 2 years on the planning committees for Jackson County Relay for Life annual event fundraiser. She enjoyed the knowledge gained and friends she made while serving on various committees. One of the last groups that Robin worked with was the Midwest Western Market – an organization that was family to her in many ways.
Robin’s greatest love and joy was her family and pets.
Robin was preceded in death by her father, Robert McQueen. She is survived by her mother, Norma McQueen, husband, Gary Dunnam, son, Matthew Dunnam of Independence, Mo.; her brother, Robert Lee McQueen, his wife Serena and two nieces, Naomi and Rachel of Leavenworth, Ks.; two step-children, Ryan Dunnam of San Diego, Ca. and Aubrey Bruns of Portland, Or.
