Ruth Durbin, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Shangri-La Rehab and Living Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Ruth Ann was born on August 27, 1940, in Independence, MO to Frank and Annabelle (Chapel) Prell. Ruth Ann was a 1959 graduate of William Chrisman High School in Independence. She was a life-long entrepreneur and enjoyed owning a ceramic shop and several restaurants. She was a talented artist, piano player and violin player. She was active in church including a pastor in the Community of Christ church. She lived in Independence most of her life but also spent several years in the Pomme de Terre lake area. Her children were the most important thing in her life. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bernie Durbin. Survivors include four children: Tom (Susan) Waters, Michelle (Brett) Guyton, Allen (Linda) Waters and Larry (Joanna) Waters, 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
