Edith Dyer

Edith Dyer, 94, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 07, 2011 surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 300, Kansas City, MO 64114. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Edith was born January 6, 1917 in Kansas City, KS to George and Laura (Wagner) Gallaway. She was a member of the East 39th Street Congregation of the Community of Christ. Edith is survived by her children John Arthur Gross, Jerry David Gross and wife Shirley, Joan Drake; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and two on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband John Jacob Gross; son James Wayne Skaggs; grandson Jerry David Gross, Jr.; brother David Arthur Gallaway.
