Mary Dyer

Mary Kelley Dyer, 99, Ellisville, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away November 17, 2010. Services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, Nov 23, 2010 at Community Christian Church, 4601 Main, Kansas City, MO 64112. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. The family requests contributions to Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter, 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, MO 64137 or Community Christian Church. Mary was born March 1, 1911 in Barton County, MO the daughter of William Dana and Martha Bell Kelley. She received a teaching certificate from Kansas State Teacher’s College at Pittsburg. She married William Dean Dyer on October 28, 1939. Dean preceded her in death on Sept 8, 2007. They lived in St. Louis and Chicago for 10 years before moving to Kansas City in 1949 and Ellisville, MO in January of 2005. Mary was a member of Community Christian Church for over 50 years. In addition to her husband and parents Mary was preceded in death by her brother Harold Kelley, her sister Pauline Williams, and nephew Philip Kelley. She is survived by her niece, Joan Duncan & husband John, Ellisville, MO, great-nieces Susan Darby, Karen Gibson, Kathy DeGonia & Katie Kelley; great-nephew Colin Kelley, and seven great-great nieces and one great-great nephew.
