Edith Eastham

Edith (Starks) Murray Eastham, 88, Independence, Mo. died April 26, 2004, at the Monterey Park Care Center. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2:30 pm, Sat. at Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Arthritis Foundation or the Alzheimer�s Association. Mrs. Eastham was born Jan. 21, 1916, in Houston, TX. She earned her teaching degree at Oneonta (NY) Normal School, and later earned a B.S. in Education from S.M.S.U. and a Master�s Specialist degree from C.M.S.U. She was an elementary school teacher in the Independence School District for many years and retired in 1976. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward S. & Margaret Murray, Indep., MO; daughter and son-in-law, Portia F. & Bill Surprise, Pittsburg, MO; grandchildren Lisa Boecker, Sean Murray, Mark Hotalling, Nick Hotalling; great-grandchildren Eli Boecker, Zachary Murray, Caleb Boecker and Danielle Hotalling.
