Gertrude Edgar, 94, of Independence, MO passed away July 22, 2009 at Rosewood at the Groves. Gertrude was born Feb. 18, 1915 to Winfield and Lucy Mullins, the youngest of six children. She was married to Harvey Edgar, who preceded her in death on June 3, 1968. Gertrude was employed by Montgomery Ward for over 30 years prior to her retirement in 1977.
Gertrude leaves behind four nieces and three nephews: Glen and Linda Mayberry of El Dorado Springs, MO, Tom and Fran Mullins of Lee’s Summit, MO, James and Dorothy Magee of Detroit Lakes, MN, Lucy and Winfred Cooper of Independence, MO, Karen and Ray Snow of Sugar Creek, MO, Connie Maberry of Edmond, OK, and Toni and Dennis Messick of El Dorado Springs, MO.
A visitation will be from 1:00-1:30 PM Monday, July 27 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 PM Monday at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
