Edmond Leroy Saffold, a beloved husband, father, grandpa, son, and friend passed away on September 1, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever. Born on January 14, 1972, in Kansas City, MO, Edmond brought joy and warmth to the lives of all who knew him.

Known for his loving and caring nature, Eddie had a heart of gold. His genuine concern for others was evident in every interaction he had. Whether it was lending a helping hand or offering words of encouragement, Eddie's kindness touched the lives of many. His infectious smile had the power to light up any room and bring comfort to those around him.

Throughout his life, Eddie found joy in various pursuits and interests. He had a passion for traveling and exploring new places. The thrill of riding his motorcycle through open roads gave him a sense of liberation. Additionally, Eddie was an avid weightlifter who embraced the discipline and challenge it brought him. As an enthusiastic fan of the Raiders football team and the Hulk character, he found delight in supporting his favorite sports teams and indulging in his love for pop culture.

But above all else, Eddie held a special place in his heart for his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his wife Krista Saffold and his children - Taraneka Robinson (Jeremy), Torrel Saffold, Colby White, Eriqa Jones - as well as their precious grandchildren Sophie Robinson, Maxwell Robinson, and Torrel Saffold Jr. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world.

Eddie's warm spirit radiated through his close-knit family circle. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his mom Eva Collins and dad Willie Champion (Virginia). Edmond shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings – Roosevelt Ramon Collins III, Keyana Collins, Lawrence Isaac, and sister-in-law Jamie Echols (Eddie). He will also be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Charlene Kiger, his bonus dad Willie Champion (Gin), his aunt Roberta Saffold and special cousin Cecilia Saffold who considered him a brother, his nephew Ramon Roosevelt Collins IIII, niece Rashanda Collins, nephew DeShaun Cahill, nephew Brayden Cahill, niece LeAsia Echols, niece Lyrick Peterson, nephew Quinton Echols, nephew Elijah Collins, as well as a host of other family and friends. 

Eddie was preceded in death by his son Xavier Saffold his grandparents James and Roberta Saffold, his uncles James and Donald Saffold, aunt Cecelia Louise Thomas, as well as his cousin Jason Saffold.

A Memorial Gathering to honor Edmond's life will be held on September 14, 2023, at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO. The gathering will begin at 5:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM.

Edmond Leroy Saffold will forever be remembered as a compassionate soul who brightened the lives of all those he encountered. His love for his family, zest for life, and unwavering dedication to those around him will serve as an inspiration for generations to come. May he rest in eternal peace.
